Ionospheric Data - Hourly

This page contains manually scaled hourly ionospheric data up to 2014. The autoscaled hourly and 5 minutes ionospheric data after 2014 is available in Ionospheric_Autoscaled page.

Before proceeding, you can check the availability of Ionospheric data for your selected region by using the Check Availability button at the bottom of the Select a Region section.

Select a Station, Parameter, Year or Month and then select the next item. Select a date and then use the Plot button to display hourly scaled ionospheric data with a line graph. To plot more than 1 day, use the dropdown list above the Plot button to select a number of days. You may select 2-10 days, a month, a half year or a whole year. To display monthly medians for foF2 or M(3000)F2, select the first day (01) of the month and plot for all days in that month. Use the Download button to download the whole year's data of the selected station and parameter. The scaled ionospheric data format can be found in the Data Formats page.

Notes:

The default Select mode is one station/parameter, if you want to display more stations/parameters, please click button "Multiple Stations/Parameters" to change the mode, Click your first target and then hold down "Ctrl/Shift" key to select one or more stations/parameters.

Only hourly data is provided here. If you need minutes-grade scaled parameter values, you can scale ionograms online with the ASWFC Ionogram Viewer.

ASWFC uses the URSI parameter codes 55 and 56 for scaling range spread (Scaling R/S) and frequency spread (Scaling F/S).

The Juliusruh ionospheric data, including houly and monthly medians data, is kindly provided by the Leibniz Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) - Field station Juliusruh, Germany. When you use any data of Juliusruh in your research, Please make an acknowledgement to the provider of the data in any publication making use of the data.

The Multan data is kindly provided by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), Pakistan. Their websites and other space-related websites can be found at WDC Links.

All stations with CAPITAL NAMES only hold data files between 1957 and 1990 at present. All of these data files came from National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) of USA.
