Key
In the table above, the following symbols and abbreviations are used.
- A plus sign after a station name indicates that as well as one or more ionosondes, the station hosts other instruments.
- Lat and Long are the geographic latitude and longitude of the station.
- The Ionosonde column indicates all the ionosondes models that have operated at the station. The still active ones (if any) are highlighted and preceded by an asterisk.
- URSI is the International Union of Radio Science.
- The ID column identifies the station by another ASWFC internal number.
- The Agent column identifies the organisations operating the station and uses
these abbreviations:
- AAD - Australian Antarctic Division
- DSTO - Defence Science and Technology Organisation
- GA - Geoscience Australia
- ASWFC (IPS) - Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre
- Niue Met - Niue Island Meteorological Service
- U Aukland - University of Aukland, New Zealand
- U Canterbury - University of Canterbury, New Zealand
- U PNG - University of Papua New Guinea
- USAF - United States Air Force
- The Media column identifies all the media types that have been used
to record ionograms at the station:
- 16 - 16mm film records
- 35 - 35mm film records
- D - digital records (used now at all active stations)
- P - paper scaling records
