Aurora, 24th August 2005

Dear Sirs,
I am unsure if the IPS is taking observer information on auroras 
observed from Australia or if indeed any is taking information. At this 
time of 21.29hrs EST I have been observing from my location a very large 
aurora event that has begun at approximately 1930hrs, at this time no 
moon has risen above the eastern horizon. It has seen a massive expanse 
of the night sky covered with pulsating green energy lights. The eastern 
fringe had been of a particularly different pattern to what I have seen 
before but the more or less solid "mass" of green sky has now risen to 
over our heads at our viewing location.
We are viewing from : Midway Point, S.E. Tasmania 42'.48 S 147' 31" E.
