The aurora seen from Tok, Alaska, on Tuesday evening, about ll:30 pm, was 
beautiful.  Longlasting, vibrant.  You could not see stars around the aurora, 
though you could in the other dark parts of the sky.  There were mainly 
flaring curtains, toward both the eastern and the western sky, running
